And pause...

The photo in today’s blogpost is of the soap I have been using to clean my brushes after my oil painting sessions. I loved the texture and colours, so took a photo before I gave the soap a good clean. The soap won’t be needed for a few weeks.
It has been challenging to keep up a routine of writing a weekly blogpost and learning realistic oil painting, so I am a little apprehensive about taking a break from these activities. I know from experience that it can be difficult to restart a discipline after a longer break....
I was toying with the idea of taking my oil paints with me while I am travelling and maybe continuing to write blogposts on my phone, but these activities would neither be practical nor relaxing. However, I have packed other art materials, a journal and my camera to continue my creative explorations.
It will be interesting to see whether and how what I have learned in the last few months has affected the way I express myself, and what new perspectives may open up when I stop what I have been doing.
I am looking forward to sharing what I have learned when I am back...
