General information about purchases

I enjoy creating art and want you to enjoy your purchase for many years to come.

Please note that all artwork and prints should be kept out of direct sunlight and away from heat sources.

Some of the original artwork may change over time due to the experimental nature of the work and some of the natural materials used. Upon request, I will send a free print (printed on archival art paper) to the purchaser of an original artwork up to 12 months after the purchase, so you can keep a record of how the artwork evolves over the years.

Please note that prints of artwork may not be able to exactly match all the colour nuances in a painting. Giclée prints are expected to have a lifespan of at least 50 years free from discolouration (behind glass, lifespan can increase to 80 years, and if they are kept in an album or a dark place, these prints may last up to 200 years.) C-Prints on professional archival photographic papers have a lifespan of 40 years in daylight and 80 years in the dark.

I take care to represent the work as accurately as possible on my website. However, due to variations between browsers, devices and screen settings online images may show some variation, especially in the rendering of colours. Any such variation is not deemed a fault.

If in doubt, and if you are able, you can arrange to see the artwork in person before a purchase.

Caring for the environment

My goal is to create environment-conscious art. Many of my pieces incorporate items that would usually end up in landfill.

For me, good stewardship includes packaging and distribution. Wherever possible, I am going to reuse packaging material and package goods in recycled and/or recyclable materials.

For prints, I am using The Print Space, as they are able to offer a carbon neutral print service, avoid plastic and use recycled and recyclable materials.

For Giclée prints, I have chosen Hahnemühle papers as I like the company’s thoughtful approach to the environment though you are able to choose another paper from the range of papers offered by The Printspace.
Payments

Payments are taken in British Pounds Sterling. You can use your regular debit or credit card or use Paypal to make a purchase. I do not offer a payment plan, but you may be able to set up a payment plan via Paypal credit.
I do not store any of your debit/credit card details.
If you prefer, you can pay by direct bank transfer. Please email me, and I will send you an invoice and my bank account details. Original artwork, hand-finished prints or prints that are in stock in the studio will be marked as “sold” as soon as the invoice has gone out to you. Please pay for the work within 5 working days. If no payment has been received and there has been no further communication from you, the item will be made available to other buyers. Prints that are printed on demand will be ordered as soon as the money is received.

Purchasing of an original painting

Most original paintings will be offered for sale at exhibitions so that you can properly see the textures and nuances in the work. Original paintings that are made available online will generally be packed and shipped within 5 working days. Please note that I do not process orders or deliveries on weekends, during UK public holidays or during my annual leave.

If you need delivery by a specific date or at a specific time, please contact me first to make sure that this is feasible and to check any extra charges this may incur.

Shipping will be charged at cost price. However, delivery in the Petersfield area is FREE of charge.

Purchasing of prints

Prints are printed on demand and send out directly from the printers. Shipping is charged at cost price and any custom charges would have to be paid for by the customer. (There are no custom charges for EU customers for standard prints as the printer has printing facilities in Germany.)
All print on demand prints are open edition prints, unless otherwise indicated. On request, I can e-mail you a certificate that includes information about title of artwork, print size and chosen paper.

Prints are charged by size. There is an extra charge for hand-finished prints. A bespoke service is currently only available in the UK, but other hand-finished prints are made available worldwide from time to time.

I do not generally sign standard prints, as this allows for a speedier fulfilment of an order. However, if you live or work in the Petersfield area, we can arrange to meet up so that I can sign your print. Bespoke hand-finished prints are signed on request. (The title can be personalised.)
Return policy

If an item that has been damaged in transit or if the wrong item has been sent to you, you have 7 days to contact me. Please take some photos and e-mail me the evidence. I will pay for the return delivery. Once I have received the item back, I will refund you in full within 14 days.
If you simply do not like a painting or print, you have 14 days to contact me by email and request a refund. You would be responsible for packing the item securely and arranging and paying for the return delivery. Once the item has been safely returned to me, I will refund your payment within 14 days, but may subtract the cost of shipping, any printing costs and other payment fees I have incurred.
If you are concerned about the changes in an original artwork, please remember that you have 12 months from the date of purchase to request a free print.
Packaging

All work is carefully packed and wrapped. Wherever possible, I will recycle and reuse packaging material to lower the environmental footprint. Where possible, please reuse the packaging material to keep it out of landfill for as long as possible.

My main printers are The Print Space who offer a carbon neutral printing service, avoid the use of plastic and use recyclable materials.
